One of my favorite rappers of the moment, G-Eazy, is back with a new track. Again, he recruits the stunning voice of his girlfriend, Devon Baldwin. G has been known to mix music from decades ago with today’s modern sounds, and with this latest jam he even explores some Trap beats — which if you have been reading the blog lately, I’m obsessed with.

“Mad” is about the fantasy of falling in love with a stranger at a party just by heavy eye contact; before any words are even exchanged. The track is set over a 60’s “Doo-Wop” melody with a “Trap” infused beat. I’m always seeking to connect the culture, styles and sounds of classic 60’s pop music with today’s hip hop. I feel that music has no boundaries and connecting sounds from different decades can reflect the timeless essence of music as a whole.
